Configure and use defect causes in K2 App to optimize tracking of parts in production. Follow this step-by-step guide to improve your traceability.
This procedure guides you through the steps to configure and use defect causes on K2App for your machines. The goal is to enable you to easily track and understand the reasons for part rejections in production, thereby improving traceability and optimizing your processes.
Prerequisites
- A valid user account on K2 App with the necessary permissions.
- A machine already configured in the application.
Step 1: Create Defect Causes
- From the left menu, in the "Configuration" dropdown button, choose the "Machines" section.
- Select your desired machine (e.g., Bending Machine).
- Choose the "Reject Causes" tab.
- To create a new cause, click on the "+" icon.
- Enter the desired information:
- Name: The name of the rejection reason.
- Color: Choose a color.
- Icon: Select an icon for the rejection cause.
- Click on the "Add" button. A message will prompt on your screen to select the option to add this cause to other machines.
Step 2: Create a New Rejected Part Rule from scratch
- From the left menu, in the "Configuration" dropdown button, choose the "Rule Engine" section.
- Click on the "Create a Rule" button.
- Assign a relevant name to your action (e.g., Bending Machine – Add a Rejection).
- If desired, customize a Label for this action.
- In the pop-up windows "Tags Modification", fill-in your machine name (e.g., Bending Machine) then select. Click on "Submit".
- In the "When" section, select "Button" as the trigger.
- In the "Then" section, click on "Select an Action" on the top-right.
- If you didn't create an action, click on the "Create an Action" button at the top right.
- Choose "Part" as the action, then fill in the following fields:
- Action Name: Assign a relevant name to your action (e.g., Bending Machine – Add a Rejection).
- Machine: Choose the machine concerned by the rejection (e.g., Bending Machine).
- Event Name: Define a name for the event (e.g., bendingMachineScrap).
- Number of Parts: Enter 1 to record a single part at a time.
- Event Type: Choose "Scrap".
- Activate the "Defect Cause" toggle to assign automatically a selected cause the rejection.
- If desired, customize a Tag for this action.
- Click on "Add".
- Choose "Part" as the action, then fill in the following fields:
- When you're back in your rule, click on "Submit" to create your new rule!
Step 3: Configure the Button on the Dashboard
- From the left menu, click on the "Dashboards" icon.
- Find your machine's dashboard (e.g., Bending Machine - Operator).
- When you're in the dashboard, activte the "Configuration" mode via the Edit icon at the top-right of your screen. Then, click on the "+" icon at the bottom right of the dashboard to add a new tile.
- Select the "Button" tile type. Fill in the following fields:
- Title: Give a name to your tile (e.g., Add a Defect).
- Type: Ensure that "Trigger Button" is selected.
- Button Text: Enter text that will appear on the button (e.g., +1).
- Rule: Select the rule you just created (e.g., Bending Machine - Add a Rejection).
- Color: Choose a color for the button tile.
- Click on "Submit" to save the tile.
- Adjust the placement of the button tile on your dashboard if necessary.
Step 4: Activate the Defect Cause Selection Window
- Still, in configuration mode in the dashboard, locate the machine status tile and click on its edit icon.
- Ensure that "Show defect cause popup" toggle is activated.
- Click on "Submit".
- You may now deactivate the configuration mode of your dashboard.
Step 5: Using Defect Tracking on K2 App
- Navigate to your dashboard and locate your "Add a Defect" button tile.
- Click on the button to record a defect part.
- The defect causes window will open. Choose the appropriate cause and/or enter a comment if you selected manual detection.
- Click on "Submit" to save your choice.
